carbon cowboys is the second feature length documentary produced by carbon nation.
carbon nation was founded in 2007 by filmmaker Peter Byck, to produce and distribute media about climate change solutions and environmental stewardship. Our first project, carbon nation, was a feature length documentary about climate change solutions, released in 2010. The film took a big tent approach to solving climate change, focusing on common sense solutions: even if you doubt the severity of the impact of climate change or just don’t buy it at all, the film illustrates how solutions to climate change also address other social, economic and national security issues.
Following the release and distribution of carbon nation, we continue to make films about the most compelling solutions to today’s environmental and societal challenges. In recent years, we have focused on the incredible potential of regenerative agriculture to mitigate climate change, restore soil health and rural economies, and improve food and water security. A 2014 short film, soil carbon cowboys kicked off our work focusing on agriculture. carbon cowboys – a documentary in 10 paddocks, launched on April 29nd, 2020, is the culmination of this work.
carbon cowboys is a production of earth school educational foundation, Inc., dba carbon nation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
